Kurt Cobain Getting Smoked Once Again
Apparently Kurt Cobain’s body hasn’t been smoked enough. Years after Cobain put a shotgun to his head and smoked himself, artist Natascha Stellmach has decided that smoking the ex-Nirvana frontman’s ashes in the name of art is the right thing to do.
Stellmach has gotten her hands on the legend’s ashes supposedly, and believes that smoking a Cobain doobie will aid in setting the singer free once and for all. Stellmach was asked how the ashes were acquired, and her answer was “That’s confidential and kind of magic. They came to me. And I am setting him free”. While I initially assumed that she just gave Courtney Love a line of coke and a hug in exchange for the Kurtdust, I am assuming that the theft of his ashes had something to do with it.
The grunge icon’s remains have been included in an installation titled Set Me Free, that investigates suicide and the power of desecration. Set Me Free is on display until October 11, at Gallerie Wagner + Partner in Berlin. The exhibit finale will take place with a small group of people in a private location, in which the joint will be sparked, puffed and passed.
